Hundreds of Swedish missionaries have worked throughout East Africa since the 1960s. Today IBRA’s work in the region is being coordinated from Tanzania but reaches all the way from South Sudan in the north to Mozambique in the south. During the last couple of years high focus has been put on reaching the Islam dominated Swahili coast. This has been done through radio broadcasting and establishment of Discovery Bible Study groups. Today more than 800 DBS-groups meet regularly. The need for both education and Bibles is immense, but despite this, the light of God breaks through and people get to know Jesus and his love.
